I commenced working with Jess Kingsley in June 2022 for my very first online presentation as part of my role with Our Watch. I was extremely nervous however Jess, in her capacity as a Virtual Assistant technician, was amazing and her confidence in her role and ability to manage this setting immediately calmed my nerves. The audience were predominantly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and Jess provided a safe and inclusive environment for engagement and participation. Most recently, from February 2023 through to April 2023 Jess supported a newly developed 5-part training package which a colleague and I delivered online to 60 participants from around the country. There were multiple moving parts, including working with closed captioners, and a few technical issues that arose (unrelated to Jess) which Jess seamlessly managed. What has been most impressive about having Jess involved in all of our online training workshops is her professionalism and conscious caring for all who were involved in this work. Finally, when Jess is involved in setting up our presentations, I'm able to take a breath and enjoy the process because I know we are all in very safe and capable hands. We will continue to engage Jess to support the work we do.
